Airports In Nigeria Will Remain Operational During WEF – FAAN

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said on Tuesday that all airports in Nigeria would remain operational during the World Economic Forum (WEF), in Abuja between May 7 and May 9.

The General Manager, Corporate Communications of FAAN, Mr Yakubu Dati, disclosed this to aviation correspondents in Lagos.

He said that government’s directive to close all schools and public offices in Abuja for the WEF would not affect operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and other airports in the country.

He said that normal flight operations would continue to take place at all airports as scheduled, throughout the period of the forum.

“We also wish to assure all passengers and other airport users that adequate security and operational arrangements have been put in place at our airports to ensure hitch-free passenger facilitation.

“We are constrained to issue this release in view of possible misconception in some quarters that the Abuja Airport, being a public utility, is affected by the closure order,” he added. (NAN)
