— June 6, 2014
The Association of Christians, Muslims and African Traditional Religion in Nigeria (ACMATRIN) has described as irreparable loss the death of the emir of Kano and ACMATRIN’s national patron, Dr. Ado Bayero in the early hours of Friday.
ACMARIN said the passing away of Emir Bayero, was a sad loss to the entire country, adding that the foremost traditional ruler died at a time when his wise counsel will be highly needed.
In a press statement issued by the national leader of the group, LIGHT HIS ROYAL MAJESTY Eze (Dr) Ezedioramma M.C. Aniagu (JP) in Abuja yesterday, the peace advocacy group described the deceased as a bridge builder, who led an exemplary life characterised by honesty, fairness, generosity and service to God and humanity.
“HRH Ado Bayero was a true Nigerian, a bridge builder and peace loving monarch. As a national patron of ACMATRIN, he helped a lot in deepening cooperation and understanding among religious faiths in Nigeria and ultimately promoted peace and unity in the country, hence his death was irreparable loss,” Aniagu said.
The group extends its condolences to the people of Kano Emirate, the state government and its members and the royal family with a prayer that the Almighty God will grant them all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
