Police Vow To Clamp Down On Criminals In Rivers State
As part of efforts to rid Rivers State of criminal activities, the State Police Command has clamped down on suspects involved in various crimes, ranging from armed robbery, car theft to kidnapping.
The suspects were paraded at the command’s headquarters in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters during the parade, the spokesman for the Rivers State Police Command, DSP Ahmad Muhammad, reaffirmed the resolve of the police in the state to chase out criminals.
He hailed the public for supplying useful information that led to the investigation and subsequent arrest of the suspects.
One of the car theft suspects, Tope Ekundayo, claimed he was a painter doing his legitimate job when the police suddenly came to arrest him.
Another suspect, Mary Amadi, had threatened to kidnap a radio presenter of Wazobia Fm Port Harcourt but claimed it was just for the fun of it, not meaning to do so.
