BBC World News Exclusive: Guinness World Record Altitude Match

A World Record for the Highest Altitude Football game ever played is not where this story ends to promote Equality. After the Guinness World Record – at the top of Mt Kilimanjaro – the women from more than 20 countries will return home to try to impact on the lives of as many women and girls in more than 10 countries.

The World Record match was part of Equal Playing Field “Altitude Football Project”, in partnership with Football for Peace (FfP).

Together the organisations seek to challenge the inequalities women face internationally.

The two 11-a-side teams – Volcano FC and Glacier FC – played the record-breaking match in custom-designed football kits from Hummel.
