‘Longest saree’ wedding in Sri Lanka

A bride entering wedlock at the Grand Kandyan Hotel on September 22 is vying to set up a by wearing a Kandyan style saree (Osariya) with the longest fall extending upto 3.2 kilometres, Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said. The observation for the Guiness record will be made by spreading the saree fall from Peradeniya junction upto Eriyagama junction along the Gannoruwa road to announce the record at Gannoruwa.

SDMIT Cubers – A team lead by Prithveesh K created a New Guinness World Record, titled “Largest Dual Sided Rubik’s Cube Mosaic” finally measured 14.981 sq m (4,500 Rubik’s cubes). Event took place in Indraprastha Indoor Stadium, Ujire, Karnataka, India on 2nd October 2016. The mosaic is constructed vertically that depicts the images on both the sides using 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube only. The image of Charlie Chaplin and Mr.Bean was represented on two sides.
