A. Inyang Of High Court of Justice, Abuja, for gross misconduct. A statement signed by the acting Director of Information of the Council, Soji Oye, says Justice Gladys Olotu was recommended for compulsory retirement from office to President Goodluck Jonathan on the ground that she, among other offences, failed to deliver judgment in a suit, 18 months after the final address by all the counsel in the suit, contrary to the constitutional provision that judgment should be delivered within a period of 90 days. Latest blog entries NNPC fails to declare $22.8bn oil proceeds -NEITI The Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative said on Wednesday that a whopping $22.8billion was yet to be declared by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in its alternative funding arrangements with Joint Venture Partners. NEITI told the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) that the findings came out of its audit report on the finances of the oil corporation for 2009 to 2011. The committee, which is headed by Mr. Ajibola Muraina, is investigating the alleged connivance of the NNPC with Swiss oil trading companies to “defraud Nigeria of billions of dollars of crude oil revenue.” The country had reportedly lost about $6.8billion as of 2013 to the connivance, which the ‘Bernes Declaration’ said involved the sale of Nigeria’s crude oil below international prices. The tribunal also struck out the petition of Dr. Chike Obidigbo, who is contesting the All Progressives Grand Alliance ticket with Obiano at the tribunal. While Obiano emerged on the platform of the Victor Umeh-led faction of APGA, the Maxi Okwu-led faction produced Obidigbo. Latest blog entries Police arrest four for raping Kogi SSS student The  Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, Mr. Seidu Madawaki,  on Tuesday in Lokoja paraded four suspects  for allegedly raping an 18-year-old Senior Secondary School student. He stated that the victim (name withheld) who lives at  11 Mission Street, Ankpa reported the crime at Ankpa Police station. Madawaki said the girl reported that she was returning from an errand when five young men accosted her. She alleged that the men hit her with charm ring and abducted her to an unknown location in a bush. According to the CP,  the victim alleged that two of the suspected rapists forcibly collected her hand set. She further alleged that three out of the five suspected rapists forcibly had canal knowledge of her, while two others recorded and took pictures of the illicit act with the phone. Jonah Jang of Plateau on Tuesday in Du, Jos South Local Government Area declared the ongoing Local council polls in the state peaceful.
