A 30-year-old man was arrested in Burbank, California, Tuesday after entering an MMA gym with a loaded gun, police tell PEOPLE. Matthew Lloyd, a Los Angeles resident, walked into the Defiant MMA Mixed Martial Arts Studio carrying a “black messenger-style bag,” a spokesperson for the Burbank Police Department says. When police arrived at the scene, Lloyd was “being subdued by another male inside the facility,” who police identified only as an instructor at the gym. “In order to protect himself, the instructor used martial arts techniques to control and subdue the suspect until police arrived,” a statement obtained by PEOPLE reads. “It was learned the suspect was in fact armed with a loaded handgun, which was inside the messenger bag.” No shots were fired within the gym. By Vincent Ujumadu Chief Henry Onuorah has been nominated the governorship candidate of the Peoples Party of Nigeria, PPN. Onuorah is from Awka South in the Anambra Central senatorial zone of the state. At the party’s primary held in Awka, Onuorah emerged winner by scoring 23 votes from the official 30 delegates made of the state executive members and the 21 local government chairmen of the party. The exercise, which was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was witnessed by PPN supporters from all the 326 wards of the state. In his acceptance speech, Onuorah promised to provide good governance to the people, adding that he would actively involve the grassroots in his administration if elected. There was an alleged showdown in Ekiti state on Tuesday as supporters of Governor Ayodele Fayose and those loyal to Senator Olubunmi Olujimi allegedly engaged in a fisticuffs over attempts by a faction to allegedly advance Fayose’s interest during a meeting by the two factions. The showdown occurred at Omuo-Ekiti, Kota-Ekiti and other communities in Ekiti East Local Government Area of Ekiti State. Reports say a House of Assembly member representing Ekiti East Constituency II, Dare Pelemo, who is believed to be loyal Fayose sustained some degrees of injury. Recall that Senator Olujimi who was the Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti state and current Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, had debunked a report in a section of the media some days back that Governor Fayose was after her life. A fatal shooting has rocked a tiny New Mexico town, leaving two people dead. Two people were killed and four others injured in a shooting at a downtown public library in Clovis, PEOPLE confirms. At a press conference Monday evening, Clovis Police Chief Douglas Ford said the shooter, reportedly a 16-year-old male, has been taken into custody. “We immediately went into the building and made contact with the suspect who gave up,” he said. Ford said the suspect’s motive is unclear as the investigation is at a “very young stage.” Ford said the two fatalities were female. The four injured, two males and two females, were initially taken to the Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.  “Three of them have been sent to Lubbock, Texas,” Tom Phelps, the interim city manager with the City of Clovis tells PEOPLE. Brandon Jones, who had a recurring role on Freeform’s  Pretty Little Liars , was sentenced to 180 days in jail on Monday for pointing a gun at a neighbor. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed the 29-year-old actor pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of assault with a firearm. Jones revealed a concealed handgun during an argument with a neighbor at his North Hills home on Oct. 30, 2015, according to prosecutors. On March 24, 2016, Jones brandished a knife and pointed a handgun at a neighbor during a different dispute, prosecutors said. Los Angeles police responded to the second incident. Ricardo Santiago of the district attorney’s office told PEOPLE at the time that Jones faced up to five years if convicted. Instead, he was sentenced to three years of probation with 30 days of community labor. Jones is required to take 26 anger management courses, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement Monday.
